FIU’s Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nezahat Doğan's article "Agriculture and Environmental Kuznet Curves in the Case of Turkey: Evidence of ARDL and Bounds Test" has been published in the sixty second issue of the Agricultural Economics Journal.
Dr. Doğan's study explores the relationship between Turkey’s agriculture sector, economic growth and carbon dioxide emissions, and considers models for reduction of emissions and energy. In the current era of climate change and global warming, Dr. Doğan provides data showing how agriculture can have positive as well as negative environmental effects and proposes practical methods of achieving the latter, including product diversification, establishment of agricultural management models, reduction of chemical and fuel consumption and use of energy saving machines. The research thus contributes both to energy conservation and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.
