In the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year, exemption exams will be held for some courses given by the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Foreign Languages. Participation in the exams will be voluntary and students will be able to apply online. Exams will be held face-to-face and the courses for which students can be exempted, and the exam application and exam dates are as follows:

These exams are different than the Preparatory Proficiency exams. If students want to be exempt from these courses in their 1st-year curriculum, they need to take these exams.  Students need to first register for the course and then apply for the exemption exam. Only those students who are taking these courses for the first time can apply. Exams will be conducted face-to-face.

EXEMPTION RULES

1. It is not compulsory for students to take the exemption exams.
2. In order to take the exemption exams for the courses they want to be exempted from, students first register for the course and apply within the application deadlines.
3. Students may take exemption exams for classes announced by the Rectorate that they register for the first time.
4. Students who are successful in the exemption exams are exempted from these courses with the decision of the relevant Faculty/School administrative board and the results of the exemption are sent to the student affairs to be registered in the SIS system.
5. In order to be exempted from the course, the student must get a score of 60 out of 100, equivalent to at least the letter grade (C).
6. The grade obtained by the students who are successful in the exam will be written on the transcript as the passing grade.
7. Exemption exams are held on the dates specified in the academic calendar.
8. The student cannot take another course in place of the exempted course.
