Cooperation Between Yunus Emre Institute And Final International University Discussed

The Yunus Emre Foundation has for many years promoted Turkish language and Turkish culture all over the world under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Culture.

The Director of the Yunus Emre Institute, Hüseyin Şahin and the Education Coordinator, Abdullah Aktaş recently visited Final International University campus to learn about the university and discuss possible cooperation opportunities with FIU Rector, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak.

Şahin: Yunus Emre Institution Has Centers In 45 Different Countries

Mr Şahin explained that the Yunus Emre Foundation was established in 2001 in the TRNC, currently had cultural centers in 45 countries, and was supporting and promoting scientific studies of Turkish language and culture in over one-hundred universities.

Support For Turcology Departments

Mr Şahin also said that the Institute also organised activities aimed at international students studying in North Cyprus, and cooperated with educational institutions in different countries, particularly with Turcology departments and Turkish language teaching departments. Şahin stated that foreign students studying here were working to become Turkish Cypriot volunteer ambassadors once they left Cyprus, and thus continue to represent Turkish Cypriot culture and Turkish culture. Mr Şahin stated that they would like to collaborate with Final International University in this regard.

Öztoprak: We Are Ready To Share Our Resources With The Institute

The Rector of Final International University, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Öztoprak, congratulated the Yunus Emre Institute for its outstanding work and contributions.  Noting that Final International University provides training in the field of Turkish language teaching as well as in many other fields, he emphasized the importance our University gives to cultural values and the spread of Turkish language. FIU is thus ready and willing to cooperate with the Institute in all relevant areas, including the hosting of activities at FIU campus.
