The great leader and founder of the modern Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was commemorated on November 10th with a ceremony at FIU.. Academic, administrative staff and students, all attended the ceremony, timed to syncronise with his passing away at 9.05 the memorial of Ataturk at 09.05 on November 10th, 1938. The ceremony concluded with a speech and poem reading indicating the significance and significance of the day. FIU’s Dr Ayşe Dalyan gave a talk at the ceremony about the meaning and the significance of the day and the importance of Atatürk’s principles and values, and their continuing significance today. The ceremony concluded with the poem "Atatürk's Last Letter", which was read by Kamuran Gül, a student in the FIU Psychology program.
