Final International University is hosting the World Federation of Tourism writers and journalists ' (FIJET) Young Journalists training programme 2019. This year, youngsters from Bulgaria, Morocco, Croatia, Turkey, Kenya, Tajikistan and Cyprus are participating in the FIJET Young Journalists training program.
The program which is aimed for travel writers and tourism journalists to write tourism articles with accurate, unbiased, enlightening and impressive content and thus contribute to World Tourism, started with the opening speech given by the rector of Final International University, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak.
As part of the “FIJET Young Journalists training program” hosted by Final International University, participants will tour a different city every day for a week. The Participants who will go to Famagusta, Kyrenia, Nicosia and Lefke will have the opportunity to see the historical and touristic places of our country such as Bellapais Monastery, Kyrenia Port, Nicosia Walls, The Great Inn, Famagusta Walls, Othello Castle, Soli Ruins and Vuni Palace.
The importance of Tourism and technology for better intercultural communication.
In this year’s program, prepared in cooperation with Assit. Prof. Dr. Nafiya Güden, the director of the School of Tourism and culinary arts of Final International University, the theme is “the importance of Tourism and technology for better intercultural communication”. On the first day “ E-Tourism and Destination Management " issues were discussed.
In addition to tourism, Richard Chamberlain, gave a short presentation on photography, described the history of Cyprus and supported the program with his personal photography exhibition which attracted a great deal of attention with antique cameras and photographs he had taken. Also this year, Gabriela Tigu, Professor of Tourism Economics at Romania's Bucharest University of Economics, and Amelia Tomasevic, Professor of Tourism Management at Vern University of Croatia, will attend the FIJET Young Journalists training program as guest speakers.
