The Final University chefs returned with awards from the International Festival. The chefs competing on behalf of Northern Cyprus at the 17th International Istanbul culinary days 2019 have made everyone happy with their achievements. Winning 4 awards at university level schools was a privilege to the final collegiate chefs.
Final University represented the country at the International Istanbul culinary days, which was organized for the 17th time this year by the Turkish Federation of Cooks and chefs (TASHFED).
The Final University chefs became a pride in the country by receiving 4 Prizes in the competitions they participated in. The schools and universities that received 4 awards successfully represented the TRNC in the organization, which is the largest gastronomy competition and festival in Turkey, held at Eyüp culture and Arts Center in Istanbul.
The organization, which was organized in cooperation with the world cooks association (WACS), which hosted the world of gastronomy at the international level in Istanbul. The organization, which took place with the federations and associations of the leading countries in the world in the gastronomy field, attracted greater interest this year as in previous years.
The festival, which made great strides in the integration of Turkish cuisine with international cuisine, brought world tastes to Istanbul. The International Istanbul Kitchen days, which was awarded the title of “Continental” by the World Association of Cooks (WACS) 4 years ago with successful organizations made in the past, provided the opportunity for students and young chefs of our country to compete at international level.
Competed in over 70 categories
Turkish Cypriot and world Chefs, competing in over 70 categories, fought hard to win medals. The Turkish Federation of Cooks and chefs aims to contribute to gastronomy tourism with this big organization that has been held for years.
4 schools and universities attended from TRNC
Schools and universities from Northern Cyprus also participated in this huge organization held in Istanbul. Haydarpaşa Commercial High School and Güzelyurt Vocational High School participated in the high schools category from TRNC, while Final International University and Cyprus International University participated in the University category.

University Level for Schools Ülküm Damla İnan got a silver medal in the dessert category, a lurie pleto bronze medal in the fish competition category for university level schools. Çağatay Karatay won the silver medal in the category of pasta cooking in the university category schools and Dogukan Gürel won a Merit Award in the category of student cook - main course competition for university level schools.

In addition to Northern Cyprus, more than 34 countries participated in the 17th International Istanbul culinary days 2019.
