Final International University (FIU) 2020-2021 academic year Spring Semester Graduation Ceremony was held on July 10, 2021 at Acapulco Resort Hotel. At the ceremony, the highest ranked student of the university, Naomi Shamma congratulated all her friends who completed their higher education and wished them success in their future lives. The second highest student of the university, Bayram Ali Gök, in his speech stated that they would be honorary representatives of the TRNC after their graduation.

FIU Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yaratan, in his speech, congratulated the graduates and provided information about the physical structure, the number of students and programs of the University. The Vice President of the Board of Trustees of FIU, Ibrahim Taşel, stated that their goal is to create a university that meets world standards and trains individuals who will become professionals in their chosen careers. The member of FIU Board of Trustees, İçim Çağıner Kavuklu, in her speech, congratulated the graduates by stating that education was provided at universal standards at the University and thanked those who contributed to the graduates’ success.

The Vice President of YÖDAK, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hasgüler, noted that despite the isolation, higher education was opened to the world and students from many different countries were educated and conducted science diplomacy. Following the speeches, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, and Nicosia UBP member of Parliament, Hasan Taçoy presented plaques and diplomas to the students who completed their higher education with degrees. Following the awards, the Vice President of YÖDAK, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hasgüler, the private secretary to the President Çağın Zort, Education Consultant of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Nicosia Ekrem Toklucu, the President of Cyprus Universities Union Selman Arslanbaş, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Literature Foundation Serhat Kabaklı, the rector of FIU, guest rectors, the members of the board of trustees, deans and school directors awarded diplomas to graduates. At the end of the ceremony, a cocktail and cap throwing event for 2021 graduates was organized at Acapulco Resort Hotel’s open area to wish them a happy farewell.
