Program Aim and Outcomes

Program Aim

The program is developed to prepare graduates who are eager and ready to cope with current challenges and make decisions in the private and public sectors. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills from different related fields that are required to achieve the main goal, including preparation for postgraduate studies in economics and related fields such as law, business and public administration. The course content introduces students to theoretical and applied economics and gives them an understanding of how economics relates to other social sciences.

Program Outcomes

  1. Understand the world, country, and society, as well as oneself, to be aware of ethical issues, social rights, values, and responsibilities to oneself and others.
  2. Understand different disciplines from social sciences to mathematics and develop interdisciplinary approaches in thinking and practice.
  3. Think critically, follow innovations and developments in science and technology, demonstrate personal and organizational entrepreneurship, and participate in lifelong learning in various subjects; to have the opportunity to continue self-education.
  4. Communicate effectively in English by oral, written and technological means.
  5. Develop knowledge of theories, concepts and research methods in humanities and social sciences.
  6. Evaluate how global, national and regional events affect society.
  7. Know how to access and evaluate data from various information sources.
  8. Provide a constructive analysis of economic phenomena at the national and international levels, as well as interactions between them.
  9. Develop an understanding of organizations and institutions in society and their impact on the economy.
  10. Recognize how incentives shape the behavior of individuals and organizations.
  11. Identify "economic" problems and propose alternative models and/or plan and conduct research to provide valuable solutions using theoretical tools and/or quantitative methods.
