General Information

Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Program was established in 2018 within the Faculty of Health Sciences and started to accept students in the 2018-2019 Academic Year.

Graduates of our four-year undergraduate program receive the title of "Physiotherapist". Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals who play important roles in improving health and quality of life by planning and implementing a treatment approach in pain and dysfunctions caused by injuries, diseases, congenital disabilities, movement system disorders or other conditions. Physiotherapists involve patients in their treatment through training and awareness and teach people to cope with their problems.

Our aim is to train graduates who have the skills and competencies of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, as well as the public interest, research and questioning abilities, lifelong learning and evidence-based application skills.

The undergraduate program in our department consists of courses of 240 ECTS, including common compulsory, compulsory and elective courses. In addition to theoretical training, our students will have practice in our equipped laboratories and contracted hospitals, and they will also have the opportunity to practice what they have learned during summer internships. Exams, assessment and grading are carried out in accordance with the conditions specified in the UFU Undergraduate Regulations.

The need for physiotherapists graduated from the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation program is increasing day by day, and the physiotherapy profession develops day by day in parallel with the increasing demand and developing technologies. Physiotherapists who graduate from this program can pursue their careers as healthcare professionals and go on with graduate and post-graduate studies if they wish.

The diplomas of our graduates are registered by both the TRNC and the TR Ministry of Health.

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation department has been a health department with a high rate of development since the 19th century and the need for national and international employment has been gradually increasing. Our vision is to train idealistic physiotherapists who will serve the society in the best scientific way and thus meet the need for employment, without sacrificing quality.

Our mission is to make continuous progress by renewing itself in accordance with the new developments in the field to train physiotherapists who haven’t memorized knowledge but internalized and practiced it, and who see the profession not only as a title or a means of earning money, but as an activity they will do willingly throughout their lives, and who have adopted the rule of lifelong learning as a lifestyle and adhered to ethical rules and principles.
