As we approach the end of another summer tourism season, once again we remember to be mindful and appreciative of the tourism and hospitality industry on world tourism day (27^th September).

Since the establishment of the School of Tourism and Culinary Arts (STCA) at Final International University (FIU), we have always given great importance for sustainable tourism.  We once again follow the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) reports, vision and initiatives in developing graduates that have empathy, professional skills, knowledge and are global citizens. 

UNWTO has identified ‘Green’ investments as one of the key priorities for tourism’s recovery and future growth and development. For World Tourism Day 2023, UNWTO highlights the need for more and better-targeted investments for people, for the planet and for prosperity.

At the beginning of the new academic year we set our aims and objectives at FIU, STCA with the vision to continue to take action together with the international community through its memberships with Eurhodip, Eurochrie, AEHT and HOSCO to campaign and teach Green Tourism for sustainable development, work closely with government officials (regional and national) for supporting and voluntarily advising for sustainable projects and developments.  Our curriculums will continue to be updated and our lecturers and students will continue to take part in social responsibility projects that promote green investments, ethics, sustainable environments, socio-culture and economic developments.

We would like to take this opportunity on World Tourism Day, to invite all stakeholders, to take part in our initiatives for a Greener Cyprus and therefore a sustainable one.
