Final International University Strengthens Academic Ties with Azerbaijan

Final International University (FIU) continues to foster international academic collaboration as part of its global engagement strategy. In a significant step toward strengthening educational ties between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, FIU A. Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı held high-level meetings with key academic and political figures in Azerbaijan.

The visit, organized by the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Association, included a productive discussion between Prof. Gemikonaklı, Association President Orhan Hasanoğlu, and prominent Azerbaijani officials. Among the attendees were Prof. Dr. Anar Iskenderov, Chairman of the Education Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fariz Ismayilzade, Committee Member and Vice Rector of ADA University, and Dr. Mehriban Veliyeva, Member of Parliament.

During the meeting, comprehensive discussions were held on expanding academic collaboration between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The parties explored existing opportunities and potential partnerships in higher education, research, and student exchange programs.

Prof. Dr. Gemikonaklı emphasized FIU’s commitment to fostering international academic networks and creating new avenues for knowledge exchange. "This meeting marks an important step in deepening the educational bonds between Azerbaijan and TRNC. We look forward to implementing joint initiatives that will benefit students and researchers from both countries," he stated.
