Community awareness trainings, organized in collaboration with the Final International University Center for Family and Women Research Studies, Mehmetçik Büyükkonuk Municipality, and Turkish Cypriot Entrepreneurial Women’s Association (GIKAD), have officially begun.

The first event of the series took place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Bafra Bostan Beach Restaurant in Mehmetçik.

The opening session focused on the topic: “The Safe Use of Artificial Intelligence: Threat or Opportunity?” In this session, Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı, Acting Rector of the Final International  University, delivered an inspiring presentation on the role of AI in today’s rapidly changing world. He emphasized both the potential risks and benefits, underlining the importance of safe and responsible use for individuals and society and especially for children.

Following this, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasan Özdal, faculty member at the Final International University, addressed current developments in technology and media literacy. He shared information on individuals' critical approach to information in the digital world, safe internet use and correct analysis of digital content, and made recommendations to parents.

These trainings, which will cover different topics each week, aim to enhance individuals’ abilities to access, assess, and use information consciously and responsibly.
