The social awareness trainings carried out in cooperation with the Final International University Family and Women's Research and Application Center, Mehmetçik Büyükkonuk Municipality and the Turkish Cypriot Women's Entrepreneurial Association (GİKAD) continue at full speed.

The third event of the series was held at the Bafra Social Facilities Bostan Beach Restaurant on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

The title of this week's event was "Tourism and Hygiene Seminar"

In the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nafiya Güden, Director of the Final International University Ünal Çağıner School of Tourism and Culinary Arts, first gave a speech starting with the general definition of tourism and particularly drawing attention to the role of rural tourism in regional development. Emphasizing how women can benefit from the tourism sector economically and socially, Güden stated that new sources of income can be created for the people of the region by explaining the opportunities offered by rural tourism. Güden also stated that hosting guests and providing quality service are the basic elements of success in tourism, and that using local products can both enrich the visitor experience and make significant contributions to the regional economy.

Finding the floor afterwards, Final International University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Hayriye Deniz Şelimen touched on how hygiene practices should be implemented correctly in daily life. Emphasizing that hand washing is a basic hygiene rule and that soap and water are sufficient in most cases, Şelimen drew attention to the harms of excessive use of disinfectants, antibiotics and chemical products. She stated that incorrect and prolonged use of protective equipment such as masks and gloves can also have negative effects on health. She also provided important information to the participants on cleaning habits at home, waste management and the hygienic use of daily items such as dish sponges.

These trainings, which are carried out weekly with different themes, aim to increase social awareness and quality of life.
