Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı and Mediterranean Sports Union President Asst. Prof. Dr. Serhat Deniz signed a protocol to strengthen their partnership.

Kyrenia, TRNC – The longstanding collaboration between International Final University (UFÜ) and the Mediterranean Sports Union Club has been further reinforced with a renewed protocol. The signing ceremony took place at UFÜ’s campus in Kyrenia, attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı and Mediterranean Sports Union Club President Asst. Prof. Dr. Serhat Deniz.

The newly signed protocol aims to update and carry forward the successful cooperation that already exists between the parties. The agreement focuses on helping athlete students balance their academic and sports careers, mutual use of the university’s sports infrastructure, and the development of joint sports, academic, and social projects.

In his speech at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı stated, “Our cooperation with the Mediterranean Sports Union is a concrete reflection of our university’s belief that ‘sport is a way of life.’ With this renewed protocol, we will provide greater academic and athletic support to young athletes and create synergies that increase our community’s interest in sports. I would like to thank the management of the Mediterranean Sports Union for this valuable partnership.”

Mediterranean Sports Union Club President Asst. Prof. Dr. Serhat Deniz expressed, “We are very pleased to renew our strong ties with International Final University within an official framework. This collaboration is a vital opportunity for young talents in our club’s infrastructure to receive quality university education. The university’s academic expertise and physical facilities will provide invaluable support for the development of our athletes.”

It was emphasized that the signed protocol would further strengthen the bond between the two institutions and make significant contributions to sports in Kyrenia and the TRNC.
