October 9, 2025 – Ankara: The opening ceremony of the 2025–2026 academic year in Türkiye was held under the auspices of the Presidency, at the Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center.

The ceremony was attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, ministers, senior state officials, university rectors, academics, and students.

Among the distinguished participants representing higher education institutions was Final International University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı, who attended the event on behalf of the university. Prof. Dr. Gemikonaklı’s participation reflected the university’s commitment to contributing to the collective advancement of higher education.

During the ceremony, key themes such as educational quality, internationalization, scientific research, and innovation in higher education were highlighted. In addition, the Council of Higher Education presented awards to distinguished faculty members in recognition of their academic achievements.
