The Environmental Research Center of Final International University has been honored with the Corporate Global Advocacy Award at the Global Advocacy Awards 2025 for its pioneering work in environmental awareness, climate action, and sustainable development.
The Center’s Director, Prof. Dr. Şerife Gündüz, was also recognized individually at the same event with the Global Advocacy Award – Climate & Environmental Action for her leadership in promoting environmental awareness, climate resilience, and sustainability.

The Global Advocacy Forum (GAF2025) will be held from 1–3 December 2025 at the Radisson Blu Heathrow Hotel, London, under the theme “The Floor Is Yours.” The forum brings together individuals and institutions from around the world who have made significant contributions in the fields of environment, education, social development, and human rights.
This year, awards are presented in 25 individual and 3 corporate categories, celebrating impactful global initiatives that foster sustainable development and social progress.

Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Şerife Gündüz, the Green Schools Project has reached 100 schools across Northern Cyprus, engaging thousands of students, teachers, and families in a powerful environmental movement.
The project sets an international example through innovative practices in waste management, upcycling, composting, energy efficiency, rainwater harvesting, biodiversity, and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage.

Within the scope of GAF2025, the Global Advocacy Award – Climate & Environmental Action recognizes individuals who have made a global impact in the areas of environmental protection, sustainability, climate crisis response, and public awareness.
This double achievement stands as a testament to the growing international recognition of environmental and sustainability-focused academic initiatives in Northern Cyprus.
