Final International University and the Azerbaijan–Cyprus Friendship Society Held an Empathy in Education Seminar in Baku

Final International University (FIU), in collaboration with the Azerbaijan–Cyprus Friendship Society (ACFS), organized a comprehensive educational seminar in Baku. Held under the title “Empathy in Education: The Key to a Psychological–Pedagogical Approach”, the seminar attracted significant interest from numerous education administrators and teachers working in secondary and higher education institutions across Baku and various regions of Azerbaijan. The event aimed to provide participants with both theoretical and practical perspectives by exploring the scientific foundations of empathy in education, the role of psychological approaches in classroom communication, and its connection with modern pedagogical methods.

The program featured two speakers: Prof. Dr. Ece Müezzin, Dean of the Science and Arts at Final International University, and FIU lecturer Zeycan Dilhan Bayram. Prof. Dr. Müezzin presented scientific findings on the impact of empathy-based communication models on student success and emphasized teachers’ responsibilities in managing emotions within the classroom. Zeycan Dilhan Bayram delivered an interactive presentation showcasing practical applications of empathetic approaches in psychological resilience, student motivation, behavior management, and teacher–student relationships.

During the opening session, Orhan Hasanoğlu, President of the Azerbaijan–Cyprus Friendship Society, delivered an extensive presentation introducing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). He provided information on the TRNC’s safe living environment, rising educational quality, multicultural academic structure, and the exceptional opportunities it offers to Azerbaijani students. He also shared detailed insights into Final International University’s academic structure, diverse programs, and world-class educational facilities.

Hasanoğlu concluded his speech by stating, “The TRNC is one of the safest and most developed centers in the region, both in education and tourism. As an island preferred by tens of thousands of young people, it provides significant opportunities for the future of our Azerbaijani students.”

Throughout the event, teachers and administrators contributed to an interactive discussion environment by sharing their own experiences alongside the scientific knowledge presented. Participants emphasized that empathy-centered approaches are crucial not only in pedagogy but also in school management, family–student communication, and modern classroom models. At the end of the seminar, attendees expressed their gratitude, highlighting that such science-based and practice-oriented programs would make valuable contributions to Azerbaijan’s education system.

Final International University and the Azerbaijan–Cyprus Friendship Society announced their intention to further expand cooperation between the two countries in educational and academic fields. It was also announced that new seminars and training programs on various themes will be organized in Baku and other regions for teachers, students, and families in the upcoming period.
