As part of the Commemoration of Mevlânâ Events organized on the occasion of the 752nd anniversary of the passing of Mevlânâ Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī, the opening of the photography exhibition titled “Reflections from the Sema – Shab-i Arus” by photographer Hamit Yalçın was held at the Çatalköy Campus of Final International University.

The exhibition, organized with the contributions of artists from the General Directorate of Fine Arts of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism and in cooperation with the Yunus Emre Institute, was opened with the participation of Final International University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute Lefkoşa, Abdullah Aktaş, and invited guests.

Speaking at the opening, photographer Hamit Yalçın stated that he aimed to convey the movement, color, and spiritual depth reflected in the sema ritual through his photographs, adding that sharing Mevlânâ’s philosophy of love, tolerance, and a human-centered worldview especially with younger generations was a great source of happiness for him. The exhibition attracted significant interest from university students of diverse national backgrounds. Within the scope of the event, a plaque of appreciation was presented to Hamit Yalçın by Final International University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı in recognition of his contributions to art and culture. Following the exhibition opening, the event continued with a Sufi music performance and a sema ceremony. After the sema ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Gemikonaklı presented plaques to Yunus Emre Institute Lefkoşa Director Abdullah Aktaş and the participating artists.
