Academics from Final International University continue to share their expertise in the field of gastronomy with young talents. Faculty members took part as jury members in the “Vocational High School Local Flavors Competition”, organized within the scope of the 15th İskele Culture & Arts Festival hosted by the municipality.

The competition was held with the participation of students from the Culinary Branch of the Food, Beverage and Accommodation Services Department of İskele Trade High School. Young chef candidates had the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills by preparing traditional dishes while also interacting with experienced professionals from the gastronomy field.

During the event, Kemal Ferit and Selim Yeşilpınar, academics from Final International University, served as jury members. The judges evaluated the dishes prepared by the students based on several criteria including presentation, culinary technique, taste, and creativity.

The gastronomic event, organized as part of the 15th İskele Culture & Arts Festival, provided an important platform for young participants to demonstrate their talents while meeting professionals in the culinary sector. Through the competition, students gained valuable experience and had the opportunity to reinterpret the rich culinary heritage of the region.

At the end of the competition, the most successful dish was selected following the jury’s evaluation. Students who prepared traditional dishes such as katmer and Tatar böreği were awarded the first prize.

Final International University emphasized that events connecting gastronomy education with the professional sector play a significant role in the development of young culinary talents. The academics highlighted that introducing students to professional culinary culture at an early stage is a crucial step for their future careers in gastronomy.
