As part of World Blood Donor Day, celebrated annually on June 14 across the globe, a blood donation campaign held at the Kyrenia (Girne) Seafront attracted significant public interest. The blood collection event, organized by the Red Crescent, was actively supported by students from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Final International University.

The event aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of regular blood donation and to honor the life-saving contributions of voluntary blood donors. Throughout the day, pharmacy students engaged with members of the public, providing information about the vital role blood donation plays in healthcare and saving lives. Informative brochures were distributed, and participants were educated on the benefits and necessity of donating blood regularly.

Students and volunteers from the local community also took part in the campaign by donating blood, demonstrating solidarity and support for this important humanitarian cause. The blood donation station set up along the Kyrenia seafront welcomed numerous donors throughout the event.

Wearing T-shirts featuring the slogan “Excellence in Healthcare Services Delivered with Love,” students from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Final International University proudly represented the university’s commitment to community service and public health. The students emphasized the importance of social responsibility and expressed their satisfaction in contributing to an initiative that helps save lives.

The World Blood Donor Day event once again highlighted the critical importance of voluntary blood donation while showcasing the valuable role that young healthcare professionals can play in promoting public health. Organizers encouraged citizens to become regular blood donors, stressing that a sustainable blood supply remains an essential component of healthcare systems worldwide.
