First​ ​of​ ​all,​ ​I​ ​would​ ​like​ ​to​ ​congratulate​ ​you​ ​for​ ​choosing​ ​Final​ ​International​ ​University.​ ​As​ ​you enter​ ​university​ ​life,​ ​you​ ​will​ ​be​ ​preparing​ ​yourselves​ ​for​ ​your​ ​individual​ ​professions​ ​and​ ​careers, and​ ​you​ ​have​ ​therefore​ ​taken​ ​a​ ​very​ ​important​ ​decision​ ​regarding​ ​your​ ​future​ ​life​ ​and​ ​success.​ ​I would​ ​like​ ​to​ ​emphasise​ ​that​ ​we​ ​will​ ​be​ ​standing​ ​shoulder​ ​to​ ​shoulder​ ​with​ ​you​ ​to​ ​ensure​ ​that

you​ ​make​ ​the​ ​very​ ​best​ ​of​ ​your​ ​time​ ​at​ ​our​ ​University.​ ​We​ ​are​ ​proud​ ​and​ ​happy​ ​to​ ​welcome​ ​you to​ ​FIU. As​ ​a​ ​new​ ​twenty-first​ ​century​ ​university,​ ​we​ ​are​ ​developing​ ​the​ ​infrastructure,​ ​technology​ ​and equipment​ ​that​ ​will​ ​meet​ ​the​ ​highest​ ​international​ ​standards.​ ​Yet,​ ​we​ ​remain​ ​aware​ ​and​ ​act​ ​on the​ ​principle​ ​that​ ​there​ ​is​ ​no​ ​substitute​ ​for​ ​the​ ​human​ ​factor.​ ​It​ ​is​ ​this​ ​human​ ​element​ ​realized​ ​by highly​ ​qualified​ ​academic​ ​staff,​ ​and​ ​motivated​ ​students​ ​that​ ​comes​ ​together​ ​to​ ​create​ ​the guarantee​ ​of​ ​high​ ​quality​ ​that​ ​we​ ​offer.  It​ ​is​ ​our​ ​vision​ ​that​ ​when​ ​you​ ​graduate​ ​with​ ​FIU​ ​diplomas​ ​and​ ​enter​ ​the​ ​world​ ​of​ ​employment that​ ​our​ ​diplomas​ ​will​ ​be​ ​recognised​ ​as​ ​a​ ​guarantee​ ​of​ ​quality.​ ​In​ ​our​ ​student-centered philosophy,​ ​we​ ​also​ ​look​ ​forward​ ​to​ ​your​ ​energetic​ ​involvement​ ​in​ ​the​ ​life​ ​of​ ​our​ ​University,​ ​in our​ ​student​ ​clubs​ ​and​ ​other​ ​social​ ​activities.​ ​By​ ​participating​ ​fully​ ​in​ ​these​ ​events,​ ​you​ ​will​ ​make friends,​ ​and​ ​develop​ ​valuable​ ​organizational​ ​and​ ​communication​ ​skills​ ​that​ ​will​ ​help​ ​you​ ​in​ ​your future​ ​lives.​ ​We​ ​consider​ ​these​ ​activities​ ​to​ ​be​ ​a​ ​vital​ ​part​ ​of​ ​your​ ​education. We​ ​are​ ​very​ ​aware​ ​that​ ​some​ ​of​ ​you​ ​have​ ​left​ ​your​ ​countries​ ​and​ ​families​ ​behind​ ​you​ ​when​ ​you made​ ​the​ ​decision​ ​to​ ​come​ ​to​ ​Final​ ​International​ ​University.​ ​As​ ​FIU​ ​Rector,​ ​I​ ​want​ ​to​ ​assure both​ ​you​ ​and​ ​your​ ​families,​ ​that​ ​all​ ​the​ ​staff​ ​at​ ​our​ ​University,​ ​whatever​ ​their​ ​role​ ​in​ ​our operation,​ ​are​ ​here​ ​to​ ​support​ ​you,​ ​and​ ​make​ ​you​ ​feel​ ​part​ ​of​ ​a​ ​new​ ​and​ ​extended​ ​international family. You​ ​are​ ​also​ ​fortunate​ ​to​ ​be​ ​located​ ​in​ ​Kyrenia,​ ​a​ ​calm,​ ​clean,​ ​and​ ​above​ ​all,​ ​safe​ ​location​ ​for you​ ​to​ ​live​ ​and​ ​study​ ​in.
