Final International University SFL Instructor Halil Ercan recently gave a presentation on the topic of "Pronunciation Problems of Turkish EFL Learners in Northern Cyprus" at the International Educatıon and Language Conference held at Eastern Mediterranean University. Ercan’s presentation was based on a study of exercises conducted with students over a two year period and identifying causes of pronunciation problems faced by Turkish speaking students, and deriving from the differences between the sound systems of English and Turkish. He emphasised the need for educational systems to incorporate practical training to address the issue, and looked forward to research continuing under the roof of Final International University.
