Final International University student, Yunus Kurbanov, took first prize in the 69 Kg category in the TRNC Boxing Championship organized by the TRNC Boxing Federation on November 19th, 2017 at the Başaran Sports Hall in Nicosia . Kurbanov defeated his first opponent in the tournament and proceeded into the final round, where he was declared one of two winners. The Turkmen FIU student also brought home to FIU a first place finish in the Leukemia Children's Aid Tournament in June.
