An "International Food Competition" was held as part of the FIU Spring Festival. Organized by the School of Tourism and Culinary Arts, and in the presence of FIU Rector, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak, FIU students from Cameroon, Somalia, Kenya, Sudan, Nigeria, Yemen, Syria, Pakistan, Palestine, Kazakhstan, Libya, Congo, Afghanistan, Albania, Turkey and the TRNC were given three hours to prepare their national dishes. The winners were the Pakistan team, followed by Libya and Yemen. The event was accompanied by music and dance shows, as well as a fashion show in which international students showed off the traditional costumes of their countries.
